CAELC is charged both to provide leadership on issues related to ESL/intercultural communication and to help members of the University of Virginia community attain the level of linguistic and cultural proficiency needed for success at a research university in the United States. Student recommendations were sent to departments in May. CAELC continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will send out updates on its Fall 2023 classes as they become available. Students should expect course placement emails in the next few weeks.
